Although the 2024 NFL season will go down as another disappointment for the Carolina Panthers, the organization should be encouraged by how the team looked down the stretch.
The Panthers may be 4-11 entering Week 17, but they played several playoff-bound opponents tough, including the Kansas City Chiefs.
Quarterback Bryce Young reclaimed the starting job and was a completely different player from earlier this year and his rookie season.
With Young looking the part of a starting quarterback in the NFL, Carolina has the opportunity to surround him with better pieces in 2025.
In the meantime, the Panthers have two games remaining on the schedule, including in Week 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Ahead of the NFC South matchup, Carolina made a few roster moves.
“Panthers place Chuba Hubbard, Chau Smith-Wade on IR, sign Mike Boone, Jake Plummer to 53, elevated DeShawn Williams,” Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston wrote on X.

The biggest news from the moves is regarding Hubbard, who complained of pain in his calf during practice and tests later revealed a strain that will keep him out of the final two games.
Hubbard is sixth in the NFL with 1,195 rushing yards, a career-high for the running back who signed a contract extension during the season.
Without Hubbard, Raheem Blackshear is in line to start with Boone also likely to get some carries.
Though Carolina might not have anything left to play for, Tampa Bay is in the playoff hunt and will be motivated to pick up a win against its division rival.
